Why a mock exam for Primary 5 students?
Without mid-year examinations for all Primary 5 students, some students get a shock when they sit for their first full English Language paper at the end of the year. Parents are also left wondering how their child is coping with the new components and the jump in expectations of this level. While Weighted Assessments do offer snapshots of how students are coping in school, sitting for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 back to back, and to do it well, requires stamina and pacing.
With this in mind, we are offering students a chance to experience the full paper under examination conditions but without the stress of the results. We believe that this experience helps students gain familiarity with and an understanding of what to expect at their End of Year Examination.
As part of this experience, we also offer a full pre-recorded post-exam analysis of every question that students can watch and rewatch as needed and insights into which components would require more attention. These will provide some direction as students prepare for the next half of Primary 5.
The post mock exam feedback and strength analysis are meant to support learning and should be used as a checkpoint. It is not meant to create more anxiety so we will not be focusing on ALs.
What these sessions offer:
Students will experience a full-length exam format, with personalised feedback and strength analysis after each mock exam.
A recorded review of whole paper. This helps to identify gaps in the student's knowledge and/or understanding of concepts.
A group Zoom session for students to clarify, ask questions and get guidance on areas of improvements.
Stimulated exam conditions to build confidence.
You may choose session A or B, or take up both sessions.
Examination mode: In-person only
Limited seats available!
During the 1 hour break, there are food options available in the building. Students to be seated and ready for Paper 2 at 11.25am.

It is a full pre-recorded post-exam analysis of every question that students can watch and rewatch as needed and insights into which components would require more attention. This will be given right their mock exam and before the scheduled post-exam Zoom review.
2. What is the duration and when is the post-exam Zoom review? Is it conducted as a class or individual?
The post-exam Zoom review is on a separate day from the mock exam date(s) and it will be delivered after the mock papers. It will be conducted in a group setting for students who want to jump in to clarify and ask questions about the mock papers.
